We condensed our legal terms because ONYX is simple: We cannot read your messages, and we do not harvest your data.

§ 01

The Zero-Knowledge Guarantee

ONYX operates on a strict Zero-Knowledge Architecture. Your messages are AES-256 encrypted on your device. We hold no decryption keys and cannot read, scan, or monetise your content.

§ 02

Data We Process (But Never Store)

To deliver messages, our Vercel relay servers temporarily process minimal routing metadata. This data is held in volatile memory and dropped instantly after delivery.

§ 03

Google Drive Backups

If you enable backups, ONYX CHAT writes an encrypted archive directly to your personal Google Drive (via the drive.file scope). Ankush Das (Dev) / Sednium has zero access to your Google Drive. We cannot view, retrieve, or delete your backups.

§ 04

What We NEVER Collect

We explicitly do NOT collect: your name, phone number, contact list, GPS location, or IP address logs. We do not harvest contacts; connections are made purely via P2P Routing IDs.

§ 01

Acceptance & Eligibility

By using ONYX, you agree to these Terms. You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA/UK). If you do not agree, uninstall the app immediately.

§ 02

Your Keys, Your Responsibility

CRITICAL: Your encryption keys are stored ONLY on your device. We have no backups. If you lose your phone, uninstall the app without backing up, or forget your keys, your messages are gone forever. We cannot recover them.
§ 03

User Conduct & Content

Because ONYX is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot moderate content. You are 100% responsible for what you transmit. You agree not to use ONYX for illegal activities, distributing malware, or sharing exploitative material.

§ 04

Limitation of Liability

ONYX CHAT is provided "AS IS". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ankush Das (Dev) is NOT liable for:

  • Loss of data, messages, or encryption keys.
  • Failed message deliveries due to relay or FCM issues.
  • Compromised or corrupted Google Drive backups.

Our total cumulative liability shall not exceed USD $10.

§ 05

Termination

You can terminate this agreement anytime by uninstalling the app. We reserve the right to block network access to any Routing ID found abusing the relay infrastructure.
